We took the measurements for the lounge hallway into the Newport store, an employee calculated how much was needed. We were told that we could take this stock item that day but because we had dog in car didn't have enough room. We asked if they would hold the stock for two weeks until we were ready to fit on our two weeks off work, and were told no problem just come in when ready. Two weeks later on arriving at the shop we were told that they had sold the order and that we could go to Swansea to collect the stock if we wanted involving a two hour round journey which would require several trips to pick up all the stock. As this was unacceptable we were told we would have to wait two days for more stock to be available, it actually took another week before all the stock was delivered. After completing the job we had nine boxes left over from the original thirty three, we asked the shop for a refund and was told it their policy only to give up to 10% of the order back something we were not informed of at the point of sale, and that they would do us a favour of taking four boxes back, I explained that we would be left with a considerable amount of wood that was no use to us and that as it was one of the most popular lines they would have no problem reselling. The manager of the store replied that this was not the case as this was a special delivery I challenged that as I had been told that I could have taken the stock on the day of purchase very obviously a lie. Three months down the line numerous unreturned phone calls from the head office and the store, plus visits to the shop I have finally been refunded my money. The attitude of the staff after the initial sale has been to treat the customer with disdain
