Politics & Government

I am furious right now. I get an email from them this week letting me know that my dues would be run automatically next
year " and will expire on Sunday, March 24." I then decline to renew and get another email from someone in their office asking me if I needed help if my group "took a wrong turn" I have not even had a chance to respond when my husband informs me that they ran our credit card for the dues yesterday! I honestly feel that this was a deceptive practice, I hardly check that account but to be honest with you, part of the reason that I am not renewing for this Meetup group is because I don't have time to run the organization. Nobody stepped up and wanted to take over and my mother is going through chemo. Not only do I not have the time, I certainly don't have the funds. I have a family here and my sick mother is in Louisiana so every freaking penny I have is checked this month so that I can afford plane tickets; not if she gets worse but when. Way too many companies are "accidentally" charging for non-renewals and blowing it off as an accident!

I have had a huge amount of respect for this service and was hoping to renew if my situation changed between now a next year, but now I sorely doubt that!
