Severe weather Pods
Deep Earth Bunkers Dealership scam

Politics & Government

I purchased a dealership in September from Severe Weather Pods, Inc. To sell fiberglass and steel storm shelters. I purchased 3 shelters and paid for them and the dealership fee of $1200 in September.

Two of the purchased shelters were delivered to me @ 4 weeks after my payment. I was told by the owner, Scott Bales, via email that the company sells @80 fiberglass shelters per week, leading me to believe this would be a profitable venture and I subsequently spent approximately $20,000 purchasing advertising for this business. My business plan was to sell 1 shelter per week with a profit of $2000 per shelter, per Scott Bales' predictions.

I was told by other dealers they did not sell any steel shelters, only fiberglass. Dealer from Virginia told me he sold approximately 4-5 fiberglass shelters per month, but had not sold any other types of shelters.

I did not receive the third shelter despite repeated inquiries from me. March I received an email that said, "as of today, SWP will no longer be selling fiberglass storm shelters." My contract said I would receive at least 30 days written notice of product changes.

I emailed SWP and stated, due to your recent business change, I believe we must cancel my order for the third fiberglass shelter (they are no longer offered) and you can refund me that amount of money. At that time, I will place an order, depending on customer demand, for a steel shelter to complete my contract. I look forward to working with SWP, despite the change in product and I will work to promote these new steel shelters.

I received another email that said my dealership has been cancelled.

I discovered after this event that SWP did not even manufacture the fiberglass shelters. That they, in fact, purchased them from a secondary company and passed them off as their own production. They are a scam in that they cannot offer what they sold a dealership to sell. I never received the 3rd shelter. The dealership agreement was to sell fiberglass shelters. Scott Bales stated they sell 80 fiberglass shelters per week, when, in fact, he sold possibly 1-2. He is a liar and a con artist. He sold me something that could never have been successful. I could never sell even the 3rd shelter, because they could not supply that shelter.
