We are warning unsuspecting people that are looking to rent an apartment in the Aycock Historic district of Greensboro North Carolina to stay away from John Mandrano and or Mandrano properties. This man and his company are slumlords. He preys on unsuspecting individuals who are looking for a place to live by stating that he owns all these houses in the area and that he is maintaining the properties and wants good people. The only part of that, that is true is that he is looking for good people. Once you become a tenant this man will not fix anything that needs maintainance or repair. His homes are all 80 years old plus and always need something. We have talked to numerous existing and past tenants who has confirmed to us that they have gone thru the same thing. We personally had a one bedroom that had one bathroom sink. The sink was already leaking and broke before we moved in, and until the day that we moved out, 8 months later the sink was never fixed. We had to brush are teeth in the kitchen sink. We also had an attempted break in and the door and window was broken. He boarded the window up for 7 months. And the door was never repaired. He has been reported to the housing authority numerous times. Please stay away, There are many nice homes in that area, just not his.
