Affordable Housing Crisis, Class Action Suit! Don't Move Here, Tax-Exempt Bond for Low Income Families is a Fraud!

Politics & Government

Ever wonder why San Diego is in an Affordable Housing Crisis?
Here's my story... I moved in under a low income housing bond program, approved by the San Diego Board of supervisor in 1994, which was to offer affordable housing to low and very low income tenants to 20% of the units in exchange for Tax-Exempt Bond.

The bonds were not to retire until according to County records. After moving in, they claimed to me they are no longer participating in the program. The board did not approve early redemption of the bonds, nor are they aware it.

After months of research of title searches and recorded documents etc. It is my strong belief the bonds truly have not been redeemed, retired, and there is no UCC termination statement recorded.

As well, their most recent financing of 56 million dollars (recorded June 16) Fannie Mae deed of trust states it is subordinate to the 1994 Regulatory Agreement and Restrictive Covenants (low & very low income tenant requirements) written by and recorded by the county of San Diego!

It makes me so angry that greedy developers are making their Pocket Books Fat while taking advantage of government programs, tax-exemptions, and other benefits etc., while hurting the tenants who desperately need affordable housing during San Diego's affordable housing crisis!

Also, I find it very upsetting that they are moving in new tenants under supposed "move in specials" for less rent than the tenants who qualified for their bogus & fraudulent low-income bond program.

I am not the only family here, 136 families or bond units were set aside under their bogus affordable housing program. I have multitudes of recorded documents to back up my statements.

My landlord tries to say otherwise, but the records speak for themselves! And the Housing Authority actually has "NO Authority" over these projects what so ever! I guess that explains why federal HUD monies were suddenly and drasticaly reduced for San Diego county's Section 8 program (by the way, I never had Sect 8)!!

Remember, their are many housing authorities, such as HUD, LIHTC, Housing and Community Development, Section 8, etc. And if you ever have to file a complaint to the proper housing authority you maybe shocked to find out that they have no project listed.

At first I tried to file my complaint with HUD, only to find out the project I moved into was not one of HUD's projects, even though, Country Hills gave me documents with HUD's language on it during my move in.

When searching for affordable housing verify that the property is not an "at risk property" first by contacting the local housing authority they are under, before you sign on the dotted line! Don't get scammed!
