Colorado Corporate Control #20081103914 Seeks compliance with "applicable laws" re corporations under CO statutes by paying $225 "annual fee"

I received an official looking letter addressed to our family LLC. It requested a reply by April 15, and an annual fee of $225.

It contained a section quoting the Corporations Code Section, 7-90-301 and 7-90-501 Colorado Revised Statutes. I have not verified if this quote is accurate, but it appears very official.

The second section was quite threatening—a plenalty if this periodic report is not filed before the due date, including personal liability or exposure being placed on directors or shareholders, danger of entity becoming "delinquent" or "noncompliant."

At the bottom it contains a disclaimer stating that "this product or service has not been approved or endorsed by any Government Agency." It further states that this is a solicitation for the order of services, not a bill, invoice or statement of account due, and that "You are under no obligation to make any payments on account of this offer."
