Colorado Police Protective Association
Telemarketing uses lies and threats to get you to donate. Ripoff

Politics & Government

As far as I can tell the CPPA is a telemarketing company using lies and threats to get you to make a donation to their cause.

After being contacted by phone at home (the CO do-not-call list does not apply to non-profits) I agreed to a modest (tax deductible I was assured) donation of $25 dollars to their cause provided they send me the info and I could send in the check.

Their info arrived shortly thereafter, but in big blue letters on the donation form it states that all donations are NOT tax deductible. Fine, this cause does not meet my criteria for a donation, so I pitched the material and thought nothing of it.

Six or so weeks go by and I receive a nasty call from the CPPA, wanting the donation I promised. I explained the earlier call I had with the orginal caller and the tax deductibe issue I have with the donation to no avail. This jerk was insistant that I fulfill my commitment, and pay up. He even hinted that he could have local law enforcement officers visit me at my home. I told him to go fish in so many words.

Whatever. If you call me again you will get another ear full.
