Answered the BACK door after dark (should have been a big red flag) to a young man who looked to be about 20 years old who said he was raising money for has baseball team for a trip to Dallas. For my donation, I would get magazine subscriptions – which would be donated to troops overseas. Said he was the grandson of a neighbor around the corner; told me he would do jobs around my home – such as wash windows.in the course of the conversation he said he had received an appointment to the Air Force Academy. He said if he could get $150 he could go home for the evening. He said my neighbor (calling her by name) and made a donation, and quickly flashed a check which he said was in the amount of $150. I made a donation of $118. My friend who was in my home that evening also made a donation $118. We were suckers. We whish we could get our money back.
