James Robertson Apartments is a government-subsidized independent-living senior citizens apartment hi-rise located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. You do NOT want to live there, trust me! This past Friday, I had to file charges of indecent exposure against my next-door neighbor who rang my doorbell and was standing there with no pants on, completely naked from the waist down, when I opened the door! I didn't even know this pervert except by first name! He is in jail now, but the apartment manager's reaction was to give him another chance; she warned him "not to do it again." This is the kind of person that will be your neighbor and this is the kind of person that will be your apartment manager.
Yesterday, I was in the lobby of the building talking to tenants about what had happened, and the apartment manager screamed at me and ordered me out of the lobby. She thinks she can censor me and that I have no constitutional rights. She actually tried to order me to my apartment! She doesn't want the word to get out about the pervert. Watch out also for her boyfriend the maintenance man. He came in on me when I was sleeping when I had no shirt on, only my bra. They don't always give you notice when they are coming to inspect. So I didn't answer the door when he knocked. And if they schedule one of their many many inspections for a specific purpose, such as checking the emergency pull-cords, it's like a terrorist attack if you have anything like stacks of newspapers on the floor— even if they are only inspecting for one specific thing. The both of them will scream at you about the "mess."
