On April 30th one of McCarthy's (heating and air conditioning company) sales reps came to my property to give me an estimate on replacing my indoor and outdoor units. He made up a proposal for the work to be done for a specialty sale that they were having for $4999.00 but this would be for the lowest possible grade indoor and outdoor units for heating and air. He asked us how we were going to pay, and my girlfriend told him she didn't know which account she was going to put it on and if the money was available. He then said that we needed to call the office first thing in the morning to put a deposit down, and made it very clear that the work would not be done if we did not make payment arrangements or a deposit. So we compared their prices to another company who would do the work for us for much cheaper and better quality units. So we had our units replaced by the company who did the work for the cheaper price on May 2nd. Between the 30th of April and the 5th of May we never called the McCarthy office or put a deposit down nor did we make payment arrangements nor did we get a phone call confirming the work was going to be done without a deposit. On the morning of may 5th, two of the McCarthy installers came to my home in the morning and did not call me 30 mins prior to let us know they were on there way. They were let in by one of the tenants in my house who had no authorization and no knowledge of what was going on. The installers failed to ask for the owner of the house or even contact (me) the owner of the house. Above not having my authorization (I am the sole owner of the property) to enter my home, surprisingly the installers took out my brand new units that were just replaced without hesitation or noticing that everything was in working order and brand new. After they were done removing my brand new units and replacing them, they began walking through my home looking for me and banging on doors at the upper level of the house, until my tenant upstairs responded. And the tenant called me to inform me what happened, this was the first I knew their men were on my property. If they had made this same effort to contact me before beginning work on my house, this would have all been prevented. As well if the sales rep had not told me that the work would not be done without a deposit. Its just very shocking that I didn't receive a phone call or a message from any of McCarthy's sales reps, service techs, receptionists, or even an installer from April 30th to May 5th confirming the appointment on a job of this magnitude. On top of all that, there were two pet gerbals missing from my tenants in the basement after installation and the installers were very rude. I came to the house to talk with them about the situation, and one of them said "i am not the one" claiming his company was the one that made the mistake and he didn't want to discuss any of this with me because this wasn't his problem. They then took their units out and reinstalled my units improperly according to my installer their installation could cause several problems in the future with the units. I then spoke with one of the owners, and he was very rude as well, he said "its not my problem, we reinstalled it, and thats that".
