The City of Olathe, Kansas has promised repeatedly (over four years that we have lived in this area) to put in a sidewalk for junior high and high school students to walk or bike to school. But every year they have a new excuse for not providing these walks. The schools will not bus (we live 2.1 miles from school and you have to live 2.5 miles for a free bus).
They DO NOT MIND however, taxing us a really sizeable amount yearly for maintenance of county, city and school facilities.
Further the City of Olathe, Kansas makes us homeowners responsible for the shared area outside our fenceline, a hill which slopes to the road (a shared thru way which we cannot do anything with but mow for them every Spring and Summer). If ignored they fine us.
If this is not a rip-off I don't know what a ripoff is!
