Any adoption attorney or agency that is looking for a third party to help facilitate adoption please hire someone other than these crooks! Kendra, the social worker hired to finalize our adoption was over 6 hours late and was hard to reach by the hospital social worker. The hospital social worker was so frustrated that she was considering halting the adoption so she could find another agency to help. One very interesting fact, our birth mothers relative is a minister at Bethany Christian. It's obvious she was late on purpose because as the hours passed, the more our birth mother was threatened and bullied by her family to keep her baby. Even though she was confident for three months and the entire day in the hospital after the delivery that she could not take care of her baby. After she was forced to change her mind, the smug social worker came out, told us and blamed our attorneys and said she never received proper counseling. That was a lie, this lady was hired weeks before to provide counsel! When we asked her what we paid $1500 to Bethany for, she shrugged her shoulders and said she was only authorized to do paperwork. She is the same social worker that told our attnys weeks before that she was confident the birth mom would place. How did she make that assessment if she didn't counsel? When we asked her why she took so long to arrive, she shrugged her shoulders again! What kind of christian organization is this?! Liars and people without compassion should not be working in such an emotional field. Well, turns out we saw her bill after all of this and she had billed for 4 hours of her time on the day she supposedly was not supposed to counsel our birth mom. And for the day of the placement, she left her office at 3pm, arrived at the hospital at 3:30pm, and left a bit before 5pm. She charged us for 5 hours!!! Her budget was $1500 and she conveniently came in right under that amount. These people cost us a lot of heartache and money! And they have now kept a vulnerable birth mother and her baby in a hostile and dangerous family environment. Sad all around. This social worker is a terrible human being!
