Does not stock critical part for power tool

A number of years ago, I purchased your model 36-220 Power Miter Saw.in the intervening time, it has served me well. Until, that is, the blade safety guard broke.
I searched online part services, and it turns out you no longer offer the guard. Why would you make a decision like that? Do you expect me to throw a perfectly good saw away and run right out to buy a new one? It is the weakest part of an otherwise good tool, a fact you are certainly aware of.
Of all the parts to discontinue, a critical safety linkage? The tool still operates great without the guard, so how many people will just soldier on without it, and maybe lose a finger? This decision reeks of a cost accountant, not a tool maker.
Please know that I will not consider any tools made by you, your sister company Porter Cable, or your parent company Black and Decker from this point forward. I consider your policies to be contrary to the best interests of your loyal customers.
