I took a survey using a number on the back of a grocery receipt thinking I might win something. The next day I got a call from a company "wakanetwork.com" to tell me I had won a $100 gas gift card among some other prizes and all I had to do was paid a shipping fee of $2.99, they also said someone will send me an email telling me further instructions on the gift card. I also had some questions but the person on the other end either didn't know what I was saying or they were trying to avoid any answers. It wasn't until I hung up, it occurred to me that I was talking to a machine, How stupid I was! Dumbly, I paid and waited for the email that never came so finally on Thursday... I called the number they had given me to cancel if I wanted to. I waited at least 30 minutes before someone finally came on. All the time I was on hold I was being told my call will be answered in 15 seconds. When I asked when my gift card was being sent, I was told I had to download my gift card then purchase $50 of gas first then return the receipt before I get any money. I had requested to cancel the membership at this time butI was told to wait until I download my membership card first and I would be given 15 more days extension to buy the gas, I told them please just cancel me right now and since there was nothing sent out, I just want my $2.99 refund. I was told I had just paid my membership fee and not my shipping fee and I can't get a refund. I thought ok, Ill just go to my bank and see if I can have them get it back. I also asked the person if he was an american because he spoke in a heavy accent and he claimed to be claling from Utah.
