Called SCE&G wanting to know what the Basic facility charge of $8.50 every month on my bill was for. Their reply was for, postage, meter readings, transformers Etc. First of all I don't have my bill mailed. Meter Readings should be paid by SCE&G, they have this contracted out. Transformers is something they should pay as well. SCE&G is the only power company I know of that continues to raise their rates on a regular basis. We have contractors here where I work but the Co. Pays for them. If our company needs parts, they pay for them! I certainly feel SCE&G is ripping their customers off!!
