Miscellaneous

I noticed a check voucher charge on my bank statement in the amount of $29.95. I contacted my bank to inquire and was told that it was an electronic withdrawal from a company by the name of Alliance and advised me to contact 1-877-886-0144 if I needed to inquire further. When I called the lady told me my husband had authorized the charge on 9/7 at 2:14 P.M. And that it was for an online subscription to a website and was a monthly charge for the subscription. My husband never even logs on to the computer and doesn't even know our checking account routing or account number because I handle the bills, etc. For our family. He only uses his business account for anything he does. I called my bank and they suggested I come in and dispute the charge and close out my account (which I dread because I've had for so long and have direct deposit as well as automatic payments set up). She said that I may want to try and call the company back because some had success in cancelling and the company agreeing to refunding the money. So I called the company back today and the guy offered to refund the money and agreed that the subscription would be cancelled. He said I could expect a refund in 5 to 15 days. Based on other comments I have since read regarding this matter I do not have any faith that I will receive a refund. This is crazy!
