So far, I have not lost any money due to the scam but I am not sure if I will lose any because of this. I recieved a call this afternoon from someone in "tech support" about error messages I have recieved recently, which I had. They remotely accessed my computer to "fix the problems" and then they sent me to a website to purchase a software. When I did not have a credit card I was given another number to handle the transaction over the phone at a later time. After I got off the phone with them I tried to call the number back. A pre-recorded message said that the number was an unassigned number at ABC. At that point I googled the number and found out that it was a scam to steal information. I have paid bills online and accessed my bank account from this computer and I am worried that I will lose money from this. I need to know what I can do to protect myself from losing any money before it happens.
