Food safety - Food Handlers No Gloves

Recently I was at a local Burger King and placed my order at the drive thru window. When I got up to the front window to get my food, I had to wait while the employee got things together. I waited quite a while, as I did so I watched her move about the place. I didn't know what the holdup was because she had not bothered to tell me, she simply took my money and shut the window. After a while I didn't see her coming and going at all and during this time there was another employee sweeping the floor area behind the customer counter and the food area. She was sweeping and occasionally stooping over to, I assume pick up something off the floor that her broom could not get. Eventually, she yelled back and forth with someone who was out of sight and then put aside her broom and proceeded to get my french fries by scooping them with a metal scoop while she used her hands to hold the fry container open. She did not wash her hands nor did she put on gloves when she went from cleaning a dirty floor to handling food. When she came to the window to give me my order instead of asking what had taken so long like I had planned, I instead said, "You just handled my food after handling dirt." She said "I washed my hands first" There was no way she washed her hands my eyes were on her the whole time! I thought about asking for a new order, but since she had lied to me, I figured I wouldn't be safe with more food prepared by her, because she was dishonest, who knows what she would do if angry. So I left, and threw the bag of food I had paid for in the garbage.
