Cash doanatins to purchase doanated food?

The Orland Knights football and cheerleading association poses its self as a charitable organization very well in the south suburbs of Chicago. The fact is that it is nothing but a scam. First of all they have an enormous enrollment fee, and for what? If the coaches are voulenterrs how can they justify a 350 dollar fee? Are uniforms really that much money when they are reused year after year?

Let me tell you about the raffle. When I was a kid we had fundraiser's. The Orland Knights say ok here's your raffle tickets, give us 100 dollars and then if you sell them you can recoup your money. Humm that sounds like blatant scam. Then they tell you that parents must volunteer at at least one game. If you don't volunteer though its an automatic 100 dollar fee. Last year it was 50 dollars.

The best was just the other day. Chick-a-filet donated samwiches for all the players and cheerleaders. Awesome! But here's the catch... All the players and cheerleaders were required to donate 5 dollars to there own team, then they would receive a ticket for a sandwich and Ice cream. No 5 bucks no sandwich or ice cream. How can they justify that when it was donated to them in the first place.

The fact is that the list of scams goes on and on with this organization. They exploit any situation they can to make money. I'm a fan of team sports and I believe they are vital for kids. But watch out for these guys if you live in the area. What starts as a 300 dollar investment so your child can be a part of something, quickly turns into 500 to 1000 within a blink of an eye.
