One year ago, a young man came to my door claiming to sell magazine subscriptions. I always like to help people, and my daughter's birthday was coming up, so I decided to order a subscription. He asked for cash, which should have been a red flag.instead of declining to order, I wrote a check. I was told it would be 6-8 weeks until delivery. The check was cleared early on, but no magazines. When 6 weeks had passed, I looked up the company's website to get a phone number. I called the number and got a message saying that if I hadn't received anything to wait 90 days after the six weeks and contact again. It fell off my radar as a busy mother and just now I remembered that it was never received. When I tried calling the phone number I had, it said the number was no longer in service. Their website no longer exists either.
