Hobby Lobby Manager with very poor judgement. - Clothing materials

I went to Hobby Lobby today to purchase fabric paints and a sweatshirt to create a shirt for the local homecoming football game. There was one extra large sweatshirt left so I took it. As I approached the checkout, I noticed a small hole in the sleeve. At the counter, I asked the clerk if they could take off any more due to the fact that there was a hole in it. She asked the manager who replied "no". I said, "really, but it has a hole and it's the only XL back there". He said that because it was 30% off, on sale, that he wouldn't take anymore off. So what he was saying was that I could get a "perfect" sweatshirt for 30% off... If they had more... Or one with a hole in it for 30% off. Just really didn't make much since. Especially when it was only going to be another $1.05 off... Apprarently he would rather lose a sell than give an additional dollar off to a loyal customer. He said that he would send it back to the manufacturer and get credit for it... Implying to me that it was about what he could do for himself as a manager and not the consumer. Needless to say, I didn't purchase it. Didn't care about the hole as I could have found a way to mend it... It was just a football sweatshirt. Didn't care to pay the sale price as that is what I intended to pay before I found the hole. What I did care about was that he would rather lose a sell than please a customer... OVER $1.00!!! Very poor judgement on the part of a store manager. Thought maybe I was being a little petty so I decided to share the story with the ladies at work. They thought it was pretty absurd that an additional discount wasn't given. I wasn't asking to get it for free. Pretty selfish decision he made today.
