Text Claiming $1000 Gift Card Never Entered

Received a message that I had won $1000 gift card from my entry last month. I never entered anything - this is a scam. Number from 909-973-6491. And how did they get my phone number? I just bought my phone from Verizon 1 week ago - is it coming from inside Verizon somewhere. Best Buy does not have my new number.
