I received a letter which was contained in an envelope with appears to be from Sears Financial, however the letterhead show Mellon Securities Group, Inc., informing me I had won $150k from a British lottery.included with the letter was a check in the amount of $3,980, which appears to be drawn on an account of Itochu Logistics (USA) Corp. At Manufacturers Bank.interestingly, the bank routing number on the check is the bank routing number for Manufacturers Bank, bu that information is readily available on the web. The old say that if it sound to good to be true, then it is comes to mind; this is obviously a scam. It appears I'm not the only "lucky" one who has received this type of letter. I would suggest throwing the letter and the check in the trash.
