National Magazine Exchange
Rip-Off Deceptive

Miscellaneous

I recieved a letter from National Magazine Exchange about my sweepstakes # and to phone them. I did so. I was asked how my day was going, told that the conversation was being taped, and that did I own a credit card. I said that I did indeed own a credit card. The man said that I was entered into the sweepstakes contest, and that he needed my phone number in case I win the contest. I gave the man my phone number. He then asked me what I would do with the 1 million if I did indeed win. I said that 33,000 a year, or whatever the exact amount would be, would allow me to live with a fairly healthy income for a long time. He then said that the next part was very great, or something like that, anyway he began to pitch to me about magazines. At no point did I agree to buy any magazines. I did mention that I liked ESPN magazine. He put that down on my order. Eventually, after he had selected my list, and was ready to process my order, I was sent to another person. This was a bright cheerful woman. She asked how the weather was? I said that it was extremely hot. She said that's great. Before my mind could come up with huh, she asked for my credit card number. That's when I turned the tables on them. I stated that I had moved, and that my credit card had been boxed up. I didn't know where it was. She asked couldn't I find it? I told her no. I then asked if I would still be getting my free magazines. Of course not. I told her that I would call back when I had obtained my credit card. Which will be never. Consumers, this is a well tested blueprint on turning the tables on this deceptive company that's only out to decieve people out of their money. They didn't get me, and they don't have to get you. Ask yourself, why would a company come onto this site, and do nothing but badmouth people, refer to them as stupid, and degrade them?
