Miscellaneous

This person stole my identity and opened many credit cards in my name with a second card in his name and then changed the address. He has run up 10's of thousands of dollars! My credit is safe but what about the merchants out the product and money? I found this site google'ing his name to find that he had scammed someone out of about $156 in 2011. Because that was easy for him and no one bothered to stop him, look how far he has gone in thieving! I don't know the total amount as every day I get calls from credit companies and I'm not sure when it began but around the end of August I got a call from American Express asking if I had opened a card account. Then within weeks the mail was full of fraudulent cards. I have a police report and a credit bureau dispute but what else can one do? How do you protect your personal information? How do they steal it? There need to be stricter ways to govern the credit card system and stricter penalties for those who commit this fraud. All the credit companies do is raise the fees and they never turn up at the court if a thief is brought to trial, so it gets thrown out! We know this guys name and address... What could be so difficult? Stop me before I head to Colby!!
