Sent the camera in for an estimate on repairs. I recieved an estimate for $118.53 which includes repair charges, Shipping and handling, and tax.

The camera is a Coolpix S610 Camera (Midnight Black) Serial # 33518572.

I had a claim for a reevaluation of the charges.

I called back after not hearing from them. They indicated that the flap on camera was broke by use. This is rediculous since it's my wife's camera and she rarely took photos with it. The only time the flap was open was to charge or take out the SD memory card. The fact is the camera was of poor workmanship and didn't last the way it should have. Nikon is blaming the consumer for their failed product. I have requested that they send the product back.

Also, I've been an advocate for Nikon as a professional photographer. I'm now selling all my Nikon equipment and will be purchasing Canon.

I would appreciate some feedback in this matter.
