I thought I was being careful to check Emerald Lux' unsolicited email to me out before I placed my order. Being unfamiliar with smokeless products, it seemed reasonable to try it out once it was determined to my satisfaction that this was not a scam. After scanning the website for any hidden agenda, and not finding one, my decision was to order the product on a trial basis. Their offer was to try the product for $4.95 to cover shipping and handling. I thought when I first placed the order that it was most likely inexpensive enough for them to use this promotional tactic to introduce their product to the consumer market. I was very surprised to receive a small box of filters, a charger and a holder for the filter. With a usb cord for charging the holder. I looked in the box for instructions on returning the product if I was dissatisfied and there was not only no instructions, there was no return address. I charged it and tried it and didn't like it at all. (caused restricted breathing and a burning sensation in my lungs) However, I could not return it because there was no return mailing address, no cancellation notice, nothing to actually tell me what to do if their product was unsatisfactory. There was no reorder forms enclosed in case I did like it.in other words, non of the typical stuff you receive along with a product. So I stuffed it in a drawer. Then a few weeks later I received a small package of more filters, which I did not order and an additional charge on my credit card of $4.95. I called Emerald Lux to cancel and I thought this was the end of it. They did not ask me to return the product, and, they did not ask me why I didn't like it and now I know why. The reason is they really didn't care if I liked it or not because now they have my credit card. When I received my credit card statement, there was a charge of $189.85 on my card. I attempted to call them at the number 888 412 6086 but after the initial answer, the phone went dead and I don't know if it is because I called too late, (3:00 P.M.) or because they phone is disconnected. I have contacted my bank via letter and disputed the claim. I am going to contact the Attorney General in whatever states they do business in and lodge a formal consumer fraud complaint. If I am required to take this to court, I will sue for actual damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages for deceptive business practices and any costs incurred. Fraudfeasors like these should be forced out of business.
