A bunch of thieves

Universal Data Services was used by Civil Service Career Center of Philadelphia, PA to collect a debt that I owed back in 1998. I didn't even know that I owed anything until I joined the Army and tried to get a security clearance in 2000. My credit report then showed that I owed this debt. To ensure that a debt wouldn't negatively impact my clearance, I settled and paid in full, and the debt was removed from my credit report.

Universal Data Services is now contacting me again more than a decade later to collect the same debt. My wife said that they actually started calling last year (June) while I was deployed to Afghanistan. I came back about two months ago and they have already called twice. They're asking for proof that the debt was paid as if I needed to keep receipts from 2000. I don't owe them anything because I will not pay them twice. I'm a well respected service member and any negative entry in my credit report can impact my career. Please denounce these people so they can stop these shameful practices.
