Need GMAC's Help

I spoke with GMAC (not sure of the date of 8/7) last week because a letter was received at the mortgage property address. It was in reference to a forclosure. They said I owed over $700 and had 35 days from the date of that letter. I told them that I had filed a complaint with The Better Business Bureau, and they didn't have anything in my file in reference to that either. I explained that I was paying $400 each month because I just did not have the money and please give me until November and I would be able to make the payments and catch up on the months that I had not been able to pay the $492. The young lady that I spoke with said that she was researching my file and didn't have any information and that I should submit it again. She also stated again that I had until September 1 to come up with over $300 (I guess that is the total of the months that I had not paid $92). There is no way that I can borrow money, I have a parttime job and my debt to income ratio is overwhelming. I tried to get a consolidation of bills and I was turned down. The bureau that they used said that I had no credit. I guess it is so bad that I no longer have a credit rating, one of those things that will take 7-10 years before it changes? I am looking to only have them accept the $400 that I am currently paying until November.
