I hired Mr Jones for a Family History Project since he lives in the area that I was needing information from. He provided one piece of documentation about my ancestor. I sent him several emails asking for updates on the research project that I hired him for. The last official email from him was in October to date I haven't heard from him. I live in California. On July 21 I sent a Certified Letter to Mr Jones VIA USPS - they attempted to deliver it on July 24 but no one was available to sign for it - so when I checked the USPS website too see if he has picked it up he hasn't yet - after 15 days if he doesn't pick it up they will send it back too me. I am adding in the cost of the Money transfer (Western Union $28.00) and the cost of the Certification of the letter ($18.24)
