Miscellaneous

In 2011 I took the vehicle in for it's 3K svc check, svc light was on when I left, so I came back and as told it was the fuel cap. Replaced it, departed and before I hit the hwy the light was on again. Called and was told it would work itself out. 3000 miles later, came in with the light still on (as they said it would not cause damage). Was again told that it was either another bad fuel cap or the air filter under the truck. Got another cap and the light came back on after they reset the comp.

Saved my $ for three months and had the filter under the truck replaced, the light stayed on. Went back on 7/26 for my 3K svc and ask what the - was going on. Head tech said he would get it fixed. When I came back the light was out but between the shop and the hwy it was on again.

Had a friend send me to this middle aged guy working out of a (very) small shop (4 day wait to get it in). Took him 30-45 min and he was done ($60.00). Problem was the wires at the engine air filter and that some maint guy probably knocked/pulled so some such damaged the wires and that was the start of the problem (checking an air filter? He said that the manufacturer should have sealed it at the factory to stop corrosion or dmaage when the air filter is checked. Anyway, a guy with a few brains made your computers and experts look like idiots.

I live on a pension and had to save for 3 months to get the filter replaced as that was what your computer said was wrong (and had to give up alot to get the $ to pay for it and the labor).

I take great care of my vehicles. Have only 60K on this one and you can eat off of the engine. The vehicle is a 1500 Sub, Vin 1GNFK16Z221295543.

I feel that you need to fix this on all new models and that I should receive at least the cost of parts (I didn't need) and payment for the labor/travel that I had to pay for.

Thank you,

Garold K. Bertrand Jr
