Miscellaneous

Fortunately, I checked these people out before I got scammed by them. However, just like the other person who's story I just read on your site, they also represented themselves as representatives of Microsoft and that they had been monitoring my computer (which it seems they had been) and were contacting me so that they could fix it for me. It wasn't until I started asking them how I could be sure they were who they said they were that they finally gave me the name of the company. I then asked them if this "fix" would cost me anything and that's when he started hemming and hawing and not giving me a straight answer. While he was searching for one, I was online, looking up the name of their company and while doing the Google search, found your site and began reading the complaint about them. Needless to say, if I hadn't found YOUR site, I might very well have scammed like that man was. I ended my call with those people by simply telling them that I would take my computer somewhere else to get it fixed (or cleaned, or whatever needs to be done to it). What bothers me, though, is that it DOES appear that they knew quite a lot about my computer and the issues I've been having with it of late and that is very disconcerting to say the least!
