I was looking for more information on people I used to know, ones who don't have Facebook obviously. Google would show that Mylife.com would have information on these people, and it would appear they had a lot of info (pulled from public records). The site at this stage looks professional and thorough. But a box always pops up blocking all the "real" info other than the persons name, and that box says sign up for an account, and the next screen shows subscription options. At this point the site looks still pretty professional and everything. I decided to sign up. I used Paypal since they can act as a buffer (and you can refuse repeating subscriptions directly through them). As soon as I got my account paid for and was in the "real" site. I found three major issues. 1) The site itself no longer looked professional but extremely amateur. The pages are simple and basic (like what you might make for a first website in a class). This was a major tip off that something wasn't right. 2) The profile pages barely contain any info. Even pulling up my own page, it had almost nothing, though before I signed up, the "fake" pages looked like they had plenty.in fact, these pages all say "invite" the person to update add to their page. It is almost as if the site isn't even pulling info from the public records like it is claiming to do. 3) The site wanted additional money/subscription fees for every different service section. So if I want to manage who can see my profile, or use their business searches, those are additional ~$100 a year subscriptions. This website is falsely advertising itself, and thus I would consider it a scam. I called for a refund, and despite having just set up the account, they refused to do so. They offered me a partial refund. Offered to set my account "non recurring" so they would not charge me again, and insisted I take a 3 month account with full access to the other services. When I said that was not fine, and I wanted a full refund, I was told this same thing again in a very "take it or leave it" tone. Again luckily I used paypal to pay for it and can prevent them from further charging my account.
