I am not sure if I have been scammed or not. I got a call from Orange E services saying they have been getting feedback from my computer and it was corrupted and going to crash. Josh Rice presented himself as a microsoft associated company. He told me my software warranty licence had expired and I would need to renew it. They got in my computer and showed me that it was 96% corrupted and said when it got to 99% it would crash and would unrecoverable. I bit and bought the "software license".. Since then they have called me multiple times and the last couple calls they have tried to sell me Windows Defender which they claim is another program that comes on the computer but expires after a number of years and MUST be renewed. Did I get ripped off? Are these people legitimate? How can you tell?
