Miscellaneous

Last August I signed up with Lexington Law. I had some old medical collections on my credit report that I was hoping to get removed. They charged me $89.00 to initiate the service and started taking $89.00 from my checking account every month for their services. During the next 9-10 months I never once heard from them or recieved anything from any of the credit reporting companies in regards to any of the derogatory credit on my report being challenged. To my knowledge none of the items were removed. On May 10th I contacted them and their policy is to verify your identity by asking for your address. Since I had moved I gave the gal my new address and she transferred me to a gentleman that tried to talk me into staying with their service saying they had some more forceful letters they could send that had a law firm heading. I told him that I would just like them to close my account. That's when he informed me that they would still be taking the $89.00 charge out on May 22nd to cover the work they had done on my file that month. I said "whatever" totally unhappy about them collecting for yet another month but resigned to the fact they were going to pull it out of my account regardless. Then at the beginning of July I'm looking over my bank statement and there is another charge that was pulled out in June. I contacted them and told them I had called and asked that they close my account in May. The gal I spoke with said they had no record of my call. She told me they have an internal stamping system that posts to every file whenever they have contact with a customer. She said that the last time I had talked to them was on May 10th when I called to change my address. It didn't click until later that the May 10th call was when I'd called to ask that they close my account. There was absolutely no reason for me to call them to notify them of an address change (besides to be perfectly honest I'm not that well organized) but I had moved months earlier and they had NEVER mailed me anything so why would it even occur to a well organized person to contact them with an address change. After insinuating that I was lying about calling in May the gal I spoke to tells me they are not only not going to refund the $89.00 they pulled out in June but are going to take another $89.00 for July. I went to the BBB and filed a complaint. I haven't heard anything but looked and as of this morning Lexington Law has not pulled the additional months fee from my account. However while on line looking to see if there were other complaints about their service I noticed that they supposedly offer a money back guarantee. I am assuming that is if they are not able to get anything removed. As I stated before, I do not believe they removed anything from my credit reports, nor have I any evidence other than their word that they have even tried. I would think that would entitle me to a refund of the monies they have collected. If I am mistaken about this fact then I still feel I should be refunded the money they took out of my account in June.
