My tale of woe,

I got on to aol in Florida for a week in Feb "free", I thought, what can it hurt. I left, canceled the account. My boyfriend lives in PA. He said he wanted to use the rest of the 3 months. I said ok, they were supposed to email when it was time to pay, no email. Self deleting after a few days.

I see charges on my visa account here in Canada in July. My boyfriends said he called form down there and they gave him another 3 months free there should be no charges. I try to call AOL but keep getting AOL Canada, who cant help me so they give me the US 1-800 number which doesnt work from here. I call 10 times, no joke Aol Canada kept giving me different numbers, and each time i actually get a personin the USA, they transfer me and then cut me off. After an hour I am in tears.

They keep telling me they will close the account. My boyfriend also calls and they tell him the same thing and that they will refund my money. August, i dont trust these demons so i call and have my boyfriend call. They say they will close the account at first. They bill me again Aug 13the. My boyfriend calls back. Now they say they cannont close the account unless they speak to me, at first they wanted the address where the account was originaly opened, then my credit card.

It changed each time. I finally call them again when they charged me, now this was the 4th charge in 3 months, june 13, july 13th and july 29th before. Tricky buggers had 2 accounts open, said my boyfriend opened a second one. He tells me he just tried to change the screen name and they never mentioned a second account the dozen other times we called. I finally got the guy i spoke to to remove one chrage.

I am now going to close the second account. I couldnt until they refunded me, only one month, and that took alot of pleading. Now i must go through the whole process again. They dont even give you thier name, only a screen name. Every time i called i got a different person who had no record of either my boyfriend or myself calling, they kept saying we never called.

Everytime my boyfriend called they told him they were giving him another month free and were meanwhile charging my account. Its been like some Kafka novel. Oh yeah even my credit card company couldnt help me stop them. I have lost 75$ to these conartists. And as we all know the service sucked as well.

Wish me luck for tomorrow as i try to put an end to this nightmare.
