I have a mobile phone contract with Orange and telephoned them in June to query my bill. When they were reading out the monthly charges they said I had a monthly payment of £3.00 on the bill for Jamster which has been present since January. I explained that I had never used Jamster downloading services and have no paperwork, contract or otherwise to show that they are charging me every month so they advised that I contact Jamster to complain.
When I telephoned Jamster to complain that I had never even used their service and was unaware that I was even being charged every month as it didn’t show up on my bill until my service provider told me (Orange), I was told that they don’t send ‘paperwork’ about the ‘membership’, but they send a text every month to customers; which I can confirm that I didn’t receive on a monthly basis. When I asked to speak to a Manager they said no-one was available and they would get back to me, but in the meantime they would cancel any further payments and could confirm that I had never downloaded anything from them. I did not hear back from them as promised, so I telephoned again and was told that I would be offered £99.00 back, despite paying over £300.00 over the last 8 years. I asked to speak to a Manager and again they said no-one was available and that was all she was had the authority to offer back to me. I declined the offer and told them I would report the matter to the relevant parties, as I feel it was unfair to not give me back a full refund, as they have confirmed that I have never downloaded anything from them in the entire period that I was being charged.
I wondered if you could give me any advice on this matter.
