Two personable young, African-American people approached my husband and me, white, middle class, as we sat in our back yard, with a reasonable hard luck story. After many pointed, insistent questions I learned that the salesperson had received the monies as my donation, such as people make to the Girls Scouts when they prefer no cookies!
