Miscellaneous

I received an email offering a job, but " before I can schedule an interview, company policy dictates that you obtain a recent credit report (from past 2 business days). This policy was created ever since an issue we had with a few of our employees abusing the company credit card accounts."
I know what employers can and cannot make employees, or prospective employees do and obtain one's own credit report that they demand they have on file is in the category of cannot.
With that being said, I went ahead and emailed back with my phone number, leaving one number spelled so to prevent bots from randomly calling, and said "I am ready for the interview." I did not go to the credit score website. The email said not to email the report, but print it and bring it to the interview.
So, either they'll be mad now, knowing full well I did not partake in their scheme -or - they'll be mad when I show up to the interview with no credit report and tell them if they want to run one, by all means, go for it, otherwise I just call my lawyer... Although, I know it will not come to that, as they know I did not run it and there is NO job, they are just using that as a ploy to steal money us job seekers cannot afford to spare, to line their pockets...
It makes trying to find work a daunting task, sifting through these return emails, all excited at the idea ONE of the hundreds sent out actually emailed back, to only sink into disgust when you see that damned, blue link in the midst of the email...
