I was looking for a public phone in Sherway Gardens Shopping Centre, Toronto.
There were no posted rates and one had to use a credit card. I made a call of less than 2 minutes duration to Niagara on the Lake. I have just received my CC statement - the bill is $ 10.14. This totally outrageous. Obviously it is not an amount high enough to ask for damages, and everybody understands the need to cover maintenance and admin costs, but in an era of 3 cents/minute long distance rates this surely is a ludicrous and disproportionate amount to charge.
