I sole approximately 960 acres of land in Benton County, MS and financed it at 7% for 30 years. He wanted to make a prepayment and I accepted his offer with the understanding that he still owed me the balance at the same interest rate. He had me sign a piece of paper, in his office, at that time located in Germantown, TN, then his attorney typed a realease on the top, the description of the land, and had a notary authorized she saw me sign the paper. There was no one in office when he conied me into signing the short, simple paragraph folded and put on the desk so that I could not tell it was folded. This was my retirment that my deceased husband had left me. The origional payment was approximately $6,000 a month and now I only get $760 a month. I feel raped. I am depressed, and my health has been deteriated because of this. Needless to say, my ability to continue living and keeping my home up has decreased dratimatically.
