Last week I responded to a job posting from WI Jobnet.com. I emailed my resume to regent. Hr01@yahoo.com. I received an email stating that I was qualified for the job & that I would need to sign up for yahoo messenger. The hiring manager was Jessica Bryan & the person who received my resume was Sherilynn Honanie. I interview with Jessica through yahoo messenger & was offered the job. Jessica informed me that I would need to purchase office software such as: BSI Accounting software, MYOB business essentials software, Peach Tree Premium US Patent single users pack, simply accounting & a few others. She informed me that I would be receiving a check to make these purchases. I received the check today & after I deposited the money into my account she wanted me to wire transfer money to a Eugene Lenker & an Ashley Renee Camancho. I thought this was rather strange so I went back to my bank & had them investigate the check. They informed me that the check was issued from a bank in NY but the address on the check was from IL. Thankfully my bank was able to cancel the endorsement on the check so I was not out any money, but I really just want people to be aware of this scam. I contacted my local police department but unfortunately there will not be a whole lot they can do about it. Please be aware of this scam!!
