On being asked to make payment towards the taxes for the holiday i 'won' i stupidly gave my visa card details (due primarily to the pushy nature of the woman). I told her several times that i did not have the amount of $800 dollars readily available and did not wish to progress a payment of this amount. My mobile phone 'died' at this point and was unable to stop the transaction which i later found out on voiecemail had been taken for the full amount (my bank account had a balance in it due to cover bills etc). Although the company did make a refund, the timing and amount left me out of pocket by £35 (am unsure of the $s this equates to) due to the exchange rate. Several attempts to recover this have failed and eventually got told that the 'file was closed' and despite being promised that an internal investigation of process would be undertaken and that i would be contacted, this never happened. I am very lucky it wasn't worse - DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! Some staff are helpful but most are rude!
