I recieved a call from Great Amercan Readers to subscribe for 5 magazines for 5 years, paying $49.90/mo for 20 months. I was told I would recieve a $100.00 Gift Card, which I haven't, and I WASN"T informed that unsubscribing wasn't an option. I called them to cancel my subscription and was told I couldn't unsubscribe. I haven't recieved any magazines from them, and in their OWN STATEMENT it says, "Your length of service for each magazine begins with the FIRST ISSUE you recieve, not the date of this order." So they took my $49.90, I can't UNSUBSCRIBE and was never told I couldn't, and they LIED about available payment options and informed me that they would take their monthly payment regardless. I DO NOT AUTHORIZE them to take payments, and they don't seem to register that. The person I spoke with was RUDE, didn't listen to me, and threatened to hang up on me when I got angry and used harsh words to get him to listen. Which he still didn't. I want my $49.90 back, and this company needs to be stopped. Do I have to switch bank accts to keep them from fraudulently debiting my acct? This is RIDICULOUS!
