I was solicited by mail for assistance w / a mortgage "restructure." They guaranteed, for a fee, assistance from an outside company to renegotiate my interest rate on my loan. I paid $2190 by debit, signed documents online & submitted all required info. I was told it would take 75-90days to complete. I called several times to check status but no one could give me any info as to how far along my application was. I was told it should be w / KAT Capital who was now in charge of processing. I called them & they had no record of me, my info & never had received my documentation from AMS inc. I then contacted AMS by fax, requesting a refund. They told me to send request via mail to a slightly different street # than what was on their letterhead. My request was received on May 29th (certified mail) but I cannot reach the company on their 800#. My husband is disabled (recovering from brain aneurism/stroke) I also disabled (visually impaired) living on a fixed income & in danger of losing our home to foreclosure. I need to recoup my refund to prevent my loan from going 90 days late while I seek another modification request from my bank.
