Denied at the counter!

My husband just was denied at the counter for an $89.00 order of food!!! The balance on our card is $136.00!! In fact, our credit was just raised a few days ago by $100.00!! The cashier tried it twice! My husband called his boss who said he could go get his check, in a neighboring town (half hour drive), a day early but it still can't be cashed till tomorrow... So he had to lend him $100.00 cash to pay for the food. All that driving, time lost, hassle and embarrassment at the counter makes for a very bad Walmart shopping experience for my husband (not to mention he called me and woke me out of a deep sleep... I had been up all night the night before and badly needed sleep). Well, I checked the account online again and the same balance of $136.00 is there that was there last night... I called the 1-800 customer service number and the same balance is there and I talked to a rep too... Except he said only the primary account holder can call about the card, even though I'm his wife and a signer on the account. This isn't fair and I think Walmart should compensate us for all the trouble.
