Won't take back unused returns

Bought a pool water testing kit on clerks recommendation. I could even figure it out to use it. I tried to return and buy some supplies at the same time. The clerk said he wouldn't takeit back because his manager said they considered this a chemical. I asked why that mattered? What was the logic? He said he didn't know. Nice.
Further, they never seem to have the parts for what I need if they need to order. I recommend a locally owner company, Poolside. They always help
