We placed an ad on Craigslist selling a tonnaeu cover for a GMC longbed. The next day we recieved 2 responses to the ad. Both e-mails asked if we still had this item for sale. We responded yes to both e-mails. Then both of them e-mailed us again and told us they were unable to pick it up personally but would send extra money to have the item picked up by a shipper and they would send a certified check. We caught on immediately as the e-mails read almost word for word. We responded to one of them again and gave our mailing address for the money to be sent. We received a "certified check" in the amount of $2,886.00, written on City National Bank, 21st floor, Los Angeles, CA 90071.. Sender was Natpe Educaitonal Foundation Inc. Signed by Sandra Ellawee. Signature looks like a photocopied signature. Check was sent from David Kendall 138 Dikeman Street, Brooklyn NY. The two people that responded to the ad: Kevin Barnett, kbarntt@gmail.com... Bob Moore, kmaxwlll@gmail.com and he had another e-mail address in one of the responses from him, moolucky22@gmail.com... I have reported and forwarded all e-mails to craigslist and the fbi fraud unit... I encourage everyone that has had this happen to do the same..
