Bad Business Practices

I made a reservation with Comfort Inn in Columbus, GA on 5/9 for a smoking room with two beds from 5/16 thru 5/18. I arrived on 5/16 and checked in with clerk, T. Baber (tbaber. Ga306). I signed for rm#315 and was surprised to find it had only one bed. I went back to clerk, T. Baber, to voice my concerns. T. Baber stated it was their mistake and moved me to rm#229 which had two beds. Upon checkout on 5/18, I was surprised to find out there was an additional $200.00 charge for smoking in a non-smoking room. I was outraged!!! The GM, Charlie Desaie, was contacted to investigate. Again to my surprise, I was told that a phone conversation with T. Baber found that she said she told me if I smoked in a non-smoking room an addition charge of $200.00 would be assessed. I could not believe the lack of intregity from T. Baber. I demanded to speak with GM. To this day the GM has not contacted me. I have left several points of contact with Charlie Desaie. I had three other guest traveling with me who witnessed this incident. I believe these actions by Comfort Inn and staff are the "Poster Boy" to Bad Business Practices. Please, I need help resolving this issue. I would hate to hear of this happening to another unsuspecting citizen. It's shameful!!
