Miscellaneous

My daughter's name is Nicky. She is 14 years old. She will be a fresheman at Homestead High School in Cupertino, CA in September. She's played softball since she was 6 years old in Sunnyvale, CA where she lives. At 13 she was recruited by Mountain View, CA to play for their league because they promised she would have a good pitching coach. We transferred her to their league and she still plays for their rec ball. The coach forementioned is no longer there. We had no idea of any norcal laws regarding switching teams and the fact they will not let a player switch from one team to another without their position. Nicky wants to play for Cupertino. Mountain View (one guy in particular) will not sign the necessary release to let her go to Cupertino. Because of their politics, Nicky is hurt and disappointed and REFUSES to play for Mountain View. Mountain View is counting on the fact that they think Nicky would rather play softball for them instead of no softball at all. But they are wrong. Nicky has chosen not to play ball. She will now spend her summer and fall days on the computer and watching TV instead of hours of conditioning and playing ball for Cupertino. Can you help convince Mountain View to release Nicky to Cupertino so she can play softball and learn skills she needs for high school and, ultimately, college? Thank you, Holly
